Multimedia interactive Tests and Alphabet/Spelling book for children from the age of 4 upwards to detect and prevent possible initial problems in reading and writing.
This program is the first illustrated multimedia spelling book created by a dyslexic / dysgrafic person to recognize dyslexia in preschool children. With the help of a corresponding training program it aims to prevent possible future learning difficulties. This interactive program is a new and playful aid for pre-school children from the age of 4 upwards. It is designed to detect possible dyslexia, dysgrafia, dysortografia and hyperactivity. The program prepares children for school and helps them to achieve better academic results. The majority of the conventional tools of this kind only offer help when problems arise. This program acts as a preventative. The state invests a lot of money in specialist teachers and support for children with learning difficulties rather than informing parents how to deal with these problems before the children start school. Some sources claim that up to 15% of the population suffers from dyslexia or some other kind of learning disorder. This is the first digital, multimedia spelling book with tests and activities designed to detect and prevent initial reading and writing problems in children from the age of 4 upwards. This project was developed over a period of six years as a doctoral thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. The author is Dr. Alena Kupčíková, a visual artist who is also dyslectic and dysgraphic. She was the founder of "Dyslexia Day"(so far existing only in the Czech Republic) and the non-profit organization "Art and Science" that offers support for dyslectic children. |
